Which wallet address is a declined deposit refunded to?

Why the refund wallet address cannot be changed and what to do if the deposit came from an exchange, a P2P platform, or another person's wallet

A declined deposit is refunded only to the wallet address from which the transaction to your Crypto Bot deposit address was received, on the same network. The wallet address is filled in automatically and cannot be selected or changed.

Refunds are requested in the Locked deposits section: select the deposit and tap Withdraw.

Where to find the refund wallet address

Before requesting a refund. The wallet address is shown in the refund request in the Locked deposits section.

After the refund is sent. The refund appears in Transaction history as a separate Deposit refund transaction. Its details show the recipient wallet address and a Transaction link that opens a blockchain explorer with the full transaction ID (TXID, hash).

In the refund email. Once the refund is sent, an email with the transaction details is sent to your verified email address:

  • amount and cryptocurrency;

  • network;

  • incoming transaction ID (deposit TXID);

  • refund transaction ID (refund TXID);

  • sender wallet address and refund wallet address;

  • refund date.

You can attach this email when contacting the service whose wallet received the refund.

The deposit came from an exchange, a P2P platform, or another service

Exchanges, P2P platforms, exchangers, and payment services that hold customer funds usually send withdrawals from a shared operational wallet, not from the deposit address of your account with that service. As a result, the refund is sent to the service's operational wallet, and the wallet address in the refund request may be unfamiliar to you. This is expected and is not an error.

Refunded funds arrive in the service's internal wallet system and are credited to your account balance with that service once you contact its support team. This is standard practice for refunds to exchanges and other services.

How to get the refund credited to your account with that service:

  1. Request the refund in the Locked deposits section.

  2. Open the Deposit refund transaction in Transaction history. Copy the full refund TXID via the Transaction link or take it from the refund email. The refund amount is shown under You sent.

  3. Contact the support team of the service the transaction came from and provide the refund TXID, cryptocurrency, network, amount, and date. If you received the refund email, attach it.

The decision to credit the funds and the processing time are determined by that service.

Why the refund wallet address cannot be changed

Refunding only to the original wallet address is required by our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policy:

  • The transaction does not go through. A deposit that fails the review is not accepted, and the funds are returned to where they came from. A refund to an arbitrary wallet address would be a new transfer of these funds to another recipient, which is the very transaction the review did not allow.

  • The flow of funds stays transparent. A refund restores the situation as it was before the deposit: the funds go back to the sender, and their path can be traced on the blockchain. Other crypto platforms handle refunds the same way.

  • Your funds stay protected. Even if someone else gains access to the account, they cannot redirect the refund to another wallet.

The procedure is the same for all users. The refund wallet address is not changed on request, including through support.

Special cases

The deposit was sent by another person

If the transaction to your Crypto Bot deposit address came from another person or service, for example a friend, a seller on another service's P2P platform, or an exchange office, the refund will be sent to that sender's wallet address.

In this case, arrange the return of the funds with the sender: Crypto Bot cannot redirect the refund to another wallet address.

Access to the sender wallet has been lost

For example, the seed phrase is lost, the exchange account is closed or blocked, or the service has shut down.

In this case, we recommend restoring access first using the wallet's recovery options or through the support team of the service or its successor. The declined deposit remains in the Locked deposits section, and the refund can be requested later, once access is restored.

A refund transaction is irreversible. Do not request a refund until you are sure you have access to the sender wallet.

The refund has already been sent, but there is no access to the wallet

Blockchain transactions are irreversible: once sent, a refund cannot be cancelled or redirected to another wallet address. The funds can only be recovered with the cooperation of the owner of that wallet address, for example through the support team of the service it belongs to.

Transaction history shows a transaction to an unfamiliar wallet address

If a refund of a declined deposit was requested earlier, this is the Deposit refund transaction. Its recipient wallet address is the address from which the transaction to your Crypto Bot deposit address was received. If the deposit came from an exchange or another service, this is the address of its operational wallet.

You can match the transaction by cryptocurrency, network, and amount: they correspond to the declined deposit. If the network fee was deducted from the amount, the refund will be smaller by the fee amount.

Another wallet address cannot be entered when requesting a refund

The wallet address field is filled in automatically and cannot be edited. This is the standard procedure, not a malfunction: the refund is sent only to the wallet address from which the transaction to your Crypto Bot deposit address was received.

Can the refund be credited to the Crypto Bot balance or sent to another wallet?

No. A refund of a declined deposit is not credited to the Crypto Bot balance and cannot be sent to another wallet, only to the sender wallet address.

Why the network fee address differs from the refund wallet address

When refunding tokens (for example, USDT or USDC), you may need to send the network's native coin to pay the network fee. In this case, two different wallet addresses are involved in the refund:

  • Deposit address. This is the address that received the declined deposit. It is shown in the refund request, and the native coin for the network fee is sent to it.

  • Sender wallet address. The transaction to your deposit address came from this address, and the refund itself is sent to it.

Sending the native coin for the fee to the deposit address does not mean the refund will be credited to the Crypto Bot balance. The required fee amount is shown in the refund request.
